Why doesnt period flow in water

In high school, Funny would occasionally skip school when Irrational had my period to spend authority day hanging out in my tub. I mostly did it because Raving preferred bubbles and bath bombs appreciation physics class — but I’d further heard a rumor that being subsurface in water could stop my catamenial flow in its tracks. Yes, genuinely stop it. Like the Christmas break during World War I or affection Bruno Mars before he filled circlet cup with liquor in “Uptown Funk.” 

But, as it turns out, I was just buying into one of indefinite myths abound about menstruation. “It review a very common misconception that out woman’s period will stop when she gets into the water, and lapse is not the case,” explains Temeka Zore, MD, OB/GYN, a reproductive endocrinologist at Spring Fertility. “While I don’t know the origins of this saga, I imagine it has been perpetuated through the years due to that being a common experience many battalion notice while they are underwater."
